Who We Are

The Mother of all Fashion Designing Associations in Ghana was established on the 5th day of October 1979 and registered as a Trade Association in the year 2014 under the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), which was also established by the Acts of Parliament, Act 718 of 2006 and Legislative Instrument, LI 2195 of 2012. This legal foundation empowers us to be a unique body authorized to ply the sewing trade, clothe the Ghanaian citizenry and beyond, and disseminate knowledge for the development of human resources for nation-building.

It was also incorporated under the Registrar General in the year 2014.

GNTDA has a working Constitution that ensures a proper management structure, accountability, separation of powers, a well-defined administrative system, and clear election procedures. These measures guarantee smooth and transparent transfers of power at regular intervals.

Additionally, GNTDA has an established educational system, the Intermediate Examination, which is organized twice every year (April and September). This examination prepares learners for national TVET qualifications, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in the fashion and garment industry.
